This is one of our favorite dishes during Lent. Being Irish and German, I make potato pancakes both ways. Serve with sour cream, applesauce, and/or ranch dressing. The kids love the ranch dressing.

The ingredients needed to make Potato pancake:
  1. Take 2 potato medium size
  2. Get 1/2 cup curd
  3. Prepare to taste Salt
  4. Get as required Oil
  5. Prepare 1 tablespoon bread crumbs
  6. Get 1 onion finely chopped
  7. Make ready 1-2 Green chopped chilli
  8. Take 1 tablespoon coriander leaves
  9. Make ready 2 tablespoon gram flour

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Add onion and reserved potatoes; toss to coat. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a preheated greased skillet. Fry in batches until lightly browned on both sides.

Instructions to make Potato pancake:
  1. Peel and grate potatoes and onions.
  2. Take a large bowl and add gram flour and bread crumbs to it.
  3. Add salt, chilli powder, green chilies, coriander leaves, curd and mix well.
  4. Add potato and onions to the gram flour mixture and mix well.
  5. Batter for pancakes is ready.
  6. Heat some oil in a pan and make pancakes from the batter.
  7. Cook both sides till it becomes crispy and golden brown.
  8. Yummy "Potato Pancakes" are ready. Serve hot with coriander chutney/ tomato ketchup.
  9. Ready to serve and ENJOY!

Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a preheated greased skillet. Fry in batches until lightly browned on both sides. Serve with applesauce or syrup if desired. Use an ice cream scooper to pick up mixture and drop on an oiled grill or iron skillet. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium.
